Short and Sweet

I don't have much to say.  It's late and I am tired.  Worked all day, went to class and had to walk 12 flights of steps because the elevators were out of order thanks to a flood.

With that being said......

Phone Booth

I have been waiting to take this photo since last week.  I noticed the phone boot after I left class, but it was too cold and too late.  I just wanted to go home.  This picture didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted.  It probably had something to do with the fact that I did not have a tripod and I used a 50 mm lens.  I think a 18-55 mm would have been better because I really could have included everything I wanted in the picture.   I didn't want to get to close.  I feel weird about photographing strangers even if they are not the main focus of my photo.  Eventually I will try again.  Until then...

This is the photograph of me and my big sister Nia!  Isn't she beautiful? She came to visit me one weekend in Philadelphia.  My husband was trying to play photographer, so I let his press the shutter button after I set the focus.  He was making jokes the whole time and made us laugh.

Green and Magenta

Today I finally finished my homework assignment for this week.  I combed the street of Philadelphia this weekend for a green and magenta combination to photograph, but couldn't find one that I liked.  So, I found it at Whole Foods.  I purchased a bunch of magenta colored Freesias.  Freesias smell great and they photograph beautifully.  The Freesias are also being used for my photo of the day.

The Trendy Treehouse Weekly Challenge

While doing some blog searching, I came across a fabulous website called The Trendy Treehouse.  Every Tuesday, the site hosts Shutter Love Tuesdays.  They issue a photography challenge with a theme.  This weeks theme is: Swings.  I am so happy I found this site today!  So here is my very 1st submission.
