Today was a very long day. I stayed at work for an extra two hours to finish a case. By the time I got home, I was in desperate need or some alcohol and a photograph. Even though it was absolutely beautiful outside, I just couldn't get off my ass once it hit the couch.
So, instead of roaming the streets of Philadelphia for a picture, I just went into my own backyard/concrete jungle.
I found this lonely little leaf on a bed of rocks. I really love the tones and the textures in this photograph.

Now....
Help me please!
For my photography, I need to come up with a theme for my project. It can be anything, but my instructor must approve it first. Please leave me with some suggestions in the comment section. All suggestions are appreciate.
I have considered the following:
Natural light portraits
Textures
Long Exposures

Sometimes the best motives can be found in your proximity. It's not always necessary to head out and actively look for something:) I like it:)
I forgot to say anything about the themes.. tough choice.. I think all three are very interesting. If I had to do it I would consider how easy it would for me to get an opportunity for the themes..
Hearing about your photography class definitely made me interested in looking into one myself.. maybe over the summer..we'll see.. is yours online or in an actual classroom?
I love this picture! As for themes? Hmmm...how about cupcakes! Can cupcakes be your theme?! I love cupcakes. You love cupcakes. And only stupid people don't like photos of cupcakes. Your instructor will give you an A if you pick cupcakes.
i agree with the texture on your today's photo. I love how the color of the leaf pops up against the rocks..
as for the theme, try shooting your city preferably during the blue hour. It's the time when the sun has just set and the buildings are lit up. You can definitely use the long exposure on this kind of shots. :)
Lovely brown tones.
Natural light flower set ups would be my theme:)
I love this shot. It's so beautiful in a very calming way. :)

Proves you don't have to look far for a great image to capture.
This is lovely!
My only advice for your theme would be to pick the one with which you feel you do your best work and it will be fabulous. :)
